BOX ELDER – Even without starters Remington Price and Layni Stevens, Pierre Governor Girls Basketball raced past Douglas Tuesday 55-14 at Whitehead Gymnasium to end a four-game losing streak.
Ayvrie Kaiser led Pierre with 13 points. Reese Terwilliger added 10. Aleise Christopherson, with more playing time because of the absence of the starters and the margin, scored eight with seven rebounds.
Pierre (3-6) scored the game’s first 27 points in beating Douglas for the fifth time in as many meetings.
Price sat out the game due to neck stiffness. Stevens had a non-COVID 19 illness.
On Friday, the Governors will play at third-ranked Brandon Valley. Coverage will begin at 6:30 Friday on 1060/103.1 KGFX and at the KGFX page at the DRG News app & drgnews.com.
