A dozen students from South Dakota will be able to see their art pieces displayed in the state Capitol building in Pierre.
The students are being recognized for their artistic talents through the Governor’s Student Art Competition. The art pieces are available for viewing in the first-floor rotunda of the Capitol through September 2022. The Capitol is open to the public on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and on weekends and holidays 8 a.m.–6 p.m..

A panel of 10 professional artists served as judges for the competition. The top-three ranked pieces in each age division are included in the exhibition. The program for student artists is a collaboration between Governor Kristi Noem and the South Dakota Arts Council.
