FORT MYERS, FL – Miguel SanĂ³ drove in a run and Byron Buxton stole a base, but otherwise, the spring training opener was a rough one for the Minnesota Twins Thursday, with a 14-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox at JetBlue Park.
Twins starter Cory Sands gave up four runs in two innings, including a two-run homer to Bobby Dalbec in the first inning.
Buxton and Jose Miranda had singles for the only Twins hits.
Minnesota will play Atlanta Friday at North Port, Florida.
