Philip A. “Bugs” Lindskov Jr., 76, of Mobridge, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, at Mobridge Regional Hospital, surrounded by family.
Phil was born on February 18, 1950, in Isabel, South Dakota, following an emergency plane ride during a blizzard. He was the son of Philip A. “Fritz” Lindskov Sr. and Stella “Betty” Lindskov. He began life on the family farm southwest of Isabel and attended a one-room country school before graduating from Isabel High School.
After graduation, Phil raised pigs and became a business owner in Isabel, operating a feed store, a locker plant, and a grocery store. He and his family later moved to Mobridge, where he owned a feed store and raised sheep, rabbits, chickens, and goats alongside his family.
Family always came first for Phil. He also loved farm animals, gardening, raising chickens, and being part of his community. His pickles and sausage were legendary, and he was always ready to lend a hand or share extra food with a friend or family member. Phil’s generosity and care for others will be remembered by all who knew him.
Phil is survived by his wife, Leann, of Mobridge; his children, Gail (Arv) of Mobridge and Lance (Oscar) of Phoenix, Arizona; his sister Lou, brother Dennis, sister Becky, and brother Dwight; his three grandchildren, Chase and Harper of Mobridge and Gabriel of Phoenix; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip A. “Fritz” Lindskov Sr. and Stella “Betty” Lindskov; his sister, Judy; and his very special nephew, Bruce Bierman.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 1 p.m. (MT), at the Isabel Community Center in Isabel, South Dakota, followed by a graveside service at Isabel Cemetery. A dessert and snack gathering will follow at the Isabel Community Center.
Flowers and memorial contributions may be made to Leann Lindskov.
The family would like to thank the many friends and family members who supported Phil throughout his life and have continued to support the family.
