Ricqual Gene Amelia LeCompte- age 30 of Dunseith, ND, began her journey to the star nation on February 19, 2021, at Trinity Hospital’ in Minot, North Dakota.
Ricqual aka “Kiki” was born August 6, 1990, at 9:45 am at the old IHS Hospital in Eagle Butte, to Gayle A. Lofton and Richard G. LeCompte. At 2 months old, Kiki became very ill and was diagnosed with Bacterial spinal meningitis after an extended stay in the hospital, her paternal grandparents offered to help care for her. It wasn’t long before she became her Grandma Ramona’s sidekick; she spent her time between her parent’s and grandparents’ homes until Ricks passing in 1994. Gayle knew how close Ramona and Kiki were and that they needed each other. She began her new life apart from her mother and siblings. However, she was never alone as her aunt Sarah who was the same age as her, became inseparable. From matching clothes to haircuts, they were, in every sense, twins. While with her grandma, Kiki lived and attended school in various places then, at the age of 13 she moved to Sherwood, Arkansas with her Aunt Mona LeCompte.
At the age of 10, Ricqual reconnected with her mother Gayle, her siblings Jordyn, Dustin, and D’Lani. Time and distance could not break their family bond; in fact, it made it stronger, since childhood Kiki has always had a protective, compassionate and nurturing nature. These traits followed her through to adulthood when she found out her baby sister needed a kidney transplant, she began to take the steps necessary to become a living donor. Although she was unable to gift her sister her kidney, her wish to become a donor was honored and her gift of life through organ donation saved the lives of 3 women.
Ricqual was a very beautiful woman with an equally beautiful soul, she was fun, loving, kind and compassionate person who always seen the good in others. She always would sing and dance with her children. Regardless of heartbreak and hard times she would get up and handle it, her babies were her everything. She was dedicated to her children, she was fulltime stay at home mother and homemaker. Her mother Gayle would jokingly tell her raising 6 kids either makes you a Super Mom or a Domestic Goddess, Kiki’s reply was really mom? Cuz the only thing it makes me is tired. :J Yep Kiki was definitely one of the good ones, Those who knew Kiki, knew that she always willing to lend a helping hand, offer a meal and a place to stay.
Our Beautiful Kiki, Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
