Tamera M. Crow, 62, of Eagle Butte, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Mobridge Regional Hospital, Mobridge, SD.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. MDT, Monday, August 31, 2026, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte, SD. Wake services will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the church, with a procession from the 4-mile at 4:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Dupree Cemetery, Dupree.

Tamera M. Crow was born July 10th 1964 in Eagle Butte, SD to Lawrence Rufus Crow Sr. and Betty Lou Clown. She was the 3rd child of seven in their family.

Tammy spent her early years living in Red Elm, running wild on the prairie, with her brothers and sisters and cousins, keeping her mom and dad on their toes. Tammy attended school in Dupree, SD. She especially enjoyed and excelled in math class. Tammy worked at the Headstart kitchen with her Aunt Mary Clown for a few years while in a program and also worked part time at the Super 8 motel. She attended Si Tanka college working towards an accounting degree for a few years. She also filled in as a babysitter for all her nieces and nephews, as well as the babies and children for her multitude of friends.

Tammy met her partner, Delwayne (Poncho) Larrabee, around 1994/1995. The date they met kept changing according to whichever one of them you asked. (Lol) They were known far and wide because of their generosity and friendly vibes. They were happy whenever they were together. Poncho helped Tammy with her family as best he could. Although they were never married, everyone thought of them as such.

Tammy suffered through losing her baby boy, Asa LaRue Crow. And because she was in so much pain, her sister Brenda Veit bestowed her youngest girl to Tammy. Jorae Butchie became Tammy’s beacon of light and hope. She raised Butchie alongside her daughters, Bokoo and Brenna, as her own. She was forever grateful that she had the chance to fill her soul-ache with such a precious gift.

Nothing made Tammy happier than when her grandchildren were born, it became her sole purpose to show them all the love she had. Her takojas were her pride and joy. She loved them unconditionally and taking care of them gave her another great sense of purpose.

Tammy will always be remembered for laughing, joking and cooking for her family and friends. She always had a story to tell from her many adventures. She was considerate and kind and forever ready to do what she could for anyone who asked her for help. Tammy was love and compassion in human form and will be remembered and missed by many.

Tammy is survived by her children Bokoo Lisa of Michigan, Brenna Lace of Eagle Butte, Jorae Butchie of Eagle Butte; her grandchildren Morningstar Rose, Jalen-Ryane Shae, Charles-Keegan Rufus, Lilly May, Roy”l Pearl, Rollin’ Thunder and River Bernadine; her great-grandsons Myles-Grayson-Harry and Summit Daniel-Hayes; her sister Lolly Jane of Eagle Butte, her brother Kirk LaRue of Sisseton; her nieces Frankee Marie, Sabra Lee, Joni Rae, Karyne Jo, Mary Grace, Koren Rae and Heidi Marie; her nephews Colt Charles, Roy Rollin, Kirkie Larue Jr., Brett Wayne, Melvin Harlan, Matthew Gill, Shawn Gene, Lewis Lou and Xavier Lou.

In passing, she follows her grandparents James and Anna (Red Bird) Clown, Lawrence Rufus Crow Sr. and Lucille (Young) Madison; parents, Betty Lou Clown and Lawrence Rufus Crow, Jr.; her baby boy Asa Larue; her partner Poncho; her grandchildren Cantè Tehila Win and Range Walker; her nephew Ford Loren; her sister Brenda Bernadine; her brothers Lou James, Asa Charles and Lawrence Rufus III; her aunts Alma, Carol, Phoebe, Pat and Mary Clown, Mary Jane lafferty, Janice and Georgianne Madison; her uncles True Sr., Richard, Carlin, Stuart and Larry Clown, Kenny and Arnold Madison.
