A 58-year-old Griffin, GA, man was issued two traffic citations yesterday (Wed.) after being the first person this year (2019) to hit the train bridge on Pierre Street with a semi.
According to the Pierre Police Department, Gregory Coley was southbound on Pierre Street around 11:40am when he ignored the over height warnings and attempted to travel under the bridge. The semi and trailer became stuck, causing an estimated $16,000 in damage to the rig. Coley was cited for a Truck Route Violation and Driving without a Commercial Driver’s License.
Traffic was re-routed for a short time while the semi and trailer were dislodged with help from a local company.
