Today (Oct. 19) is the deadline to be registered to vote in South Dakota if you want to be eligible to vote in next month’s general election.
Hughes County finance officer Jane Naylor says voter registration forms must be in your county auditor’s office by 5pm.
She says when you bring your voter registration form to the courthouse, you may be able to absentee vote while you’re there.
Naylor says there’s been a lot of interest in absentee voting for this election.
She says if you have questions, contact your county auditor’s office or go to the South Dakota Secretary of State’s website (sdsos.gov).
Bring a photo ID with you when you go vote.
