Western Area Power Administration crews are still looking for the cause, but the electricity is back on in the Pierre and Fort Pierre area after a brief power outage this (Tues.) morning.
During a conversation in the noon hour today, WAPA spokesperson Lisa Meiman told DRG Media Group they’re doing repairs on backup lines, which left nothing to fall back on when the main lines went out.
Meiman says they’ve narrowed down the location of the power interruption as being in the Oahe Dam area.

Western Area Power Administration crews are working to determine the cause of an intermittent power outage in the Pierre and Fort Pierre areas this (Tues.) morning.
WAPA spokesperson Lisa Meiman says the source of the power interruption has been narrowed down to the Oahe Dam area.
At this time, Meiman says they aren’t certain how large of an area is affected.
