FLANDREAU – Former Miller cross country and track coach Tom McGough will be inducted into the South Dakota Cross Country and Track and Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame during the 2021 State High School Track Meet.
McGough, an alum of Stanley County High School and Northern State University, spent 39 of his 46 years in education in Miller, where the Rustlers had success in conference, region and state.
In 2002, McGough was named as the South Dakota High School Coaches Association Cross Country Coach of the Year and the NHSACA Circle of Champions Coach of the Year. He has served for years on the Cross Country and Track and Field Advisory Committee of the SDHSAA.
Also inducted will be long time Aberdeen Central coach and retiring athletic director Gene Brownell, former Northern State head coach Jim Miller, USD cross country head coach Dan Fitzsimmons and the Viborg-Hurley husband and wife coaching team of Connie and John Nyhaug.
