The Pierre Governors football team will play in its fifth straight Class 11AA State Championship game Friday night (Nov. 12, 2021).
Pierre School District Supt. Dr. Kelly Glodt says they’ll dismiss classes at 12:30pm so supporters can make the trip to Vermillion.
Pierre will play Tea Area Friday in the 11AA championship game at the DakotaDome. The Governors will attempt to be the second program since playoffs began in South Dakota in 1981 to win at least five straight titles. West Central won six 11A championships consecutively from 2000-2005.
