The Karl’s, Pierre Area Referral Service and DRG Media Group Hunger Heroes food drive continues today (Nov. 11, 2021).
Through Sunday (Nov. 14, 2021), please drop off your non-perishable food donations at the Karl’s store (1615 North Harrison Ave Suite 3) at its new location in the Northridge Plaza in Pierre.
PARS executive director Corwin Jones they can currently use “things that go with things.” Some examples he gives are:

macaroni and cheese
-
ramen noodles
-
boxed meal kits
-
they have peanut butter, but could use jelly
Jones says they ask that donations are not expired and are unopened. He says if you’d use it at your home, it’s something they can use when packing boxes for their clients.
Karl’s in Pierre is open:

Monday to Friday: 9am to 7pm
-
Saturday: 9am to 6pm
-
Sunday: 12pm to 5pm
PARS is also currently accepting monetary donations for holiday meals and they can use volunteers to ring bells during the holiday season.
Food banks across the USA have been dealing with increased demand from those who have lost income because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, they’re also faced with the challenge of surging food prices and supply chain issues.
