Pierre School District holding classes today so students can learn more about Veterans Day; Public ceremony at 10:30am at the TF Riggs High School Theater

The Pierre School District held various Veterans Day programs today (Nov. 11, 2021) throughout the different schools.

Pierre Supt. Dr. Kelly Glodt says quite a few years ago administrators made the decision to hold school on Veteran’s Day. He says because of the change, students have learned about the importance of Veteran’s Day and honoring those who have served our country.

Glodt says there will be a Veterans Day ceremony this morning at the Pierre TF Riggs High School Theater.

After the Pierre Veterans Day service, the ladies of the American Legion Unit 8 will provide a free will donation luncheon at the American Legion cabin. At 12:30pm, a re-dedication and ribbon cutting will take place outside the Legion Cabin.
