No people or pets were injured during a small fire about mid-morning today (Dec. 3, 2021) in the 2800 block of Kay Street in Pierre (north of Jake’s Good Times Place).
Gerrit Tronvold is the Engine 2 truck captain for the Pierre Volunteer Fire Department. He says one resident was home and was alerted to the fire by a smoke detector.
Along with having working smoke detectors, Tronvold says the homeowner took appropriate action while calling the fire in.
