Congratulations to Julianna Big Eagle on being chosen the Pierre TF Riggs High School First National Bank Fine Arts Performer of the Week.

Freshman, Julianna Big Eagle is currently enrolled in Intro to Art this semester and has been excelling in all of her projects. She is especially skilled in color marker illustrations. Recently she completed a unique tessellation design that depicted goldfish swimming in the water.
“I think body positivity is a big problem among young men and women. I wanted to give the goldfish marks that resemble freckles and stretch marks, but still advertise them as beautiful. Many industries make money off of insecurities and I wanted to create something that would help others embrace their differences,” states Julianna.
Julianna’s artwork, “Goldfish Tessellation,” has been ranked among the top three in her division and selected for the 2022 Governor’s Student Art Exhibition. The exhibition will open January 11, 2022, and run through the end of September 2022 in the South Dakota Capitol Rotunda in Pierre.
