The inaugural class of the Dakota Wesleyan University Learn & Earn Program will wrap up its donation drive for the Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center today (Dec. 13, 2021).
Class member Brenda Velazquez says donation boxes can be found at about two dozen businesses around Pierre and Fort Pierre.
Class member Molly Neyhart mentions some of the items being requested by Missouri Shores clients.
Other requested items include: new and gently used women’s and children’s clothing of all sizes, paper products (paper towels and toilet paper), dryer sheets and laundry soap (powder preferred), diapers/pull-ups and wipes, cleaning supplies, full-sized hygiene products, non-perishable food items, and gently used household items. A donation drive celebration event will be held tomorrow (Dec. 14, 2021) from 5-7pm CT at the Capital City Campus in Pierre. The event will include light refreshments, a guest speaker at 6pm and information about the mission and work of the Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center.
Again, donation boxes are located at the following Pierre businesses: Capital City Campus, SD Discovery Center, Faith Lutheran Church, Oahe Family YMCA, Beck Motors Company, St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School, Andrea Royer Studio, Lutheran Memorial Church, The Alley Exchange, Peitz Service Experts, La Minestra, Brosz Engineering, Evermore Boutique, Rustic River Boutique and Décor, Fearless & Wonderfully Made Yoga & Wellness Center, BURN Infrared Fitness Studio, The Soccer Athlete and First United Methodist Church. Other Missouri Shores donation box locations include St. John’s Catholic Church and Lynn’s Dakotamart in Fort Pierre, Messiah Lutheran Church in Murdo, Zion Church in Presho and St. Paul’s Church in Draper.
