Phone service restored to State Capitol, Pierre Police Department, other businesses

Phone service has been restored to buildings in Pierre that had been dealing with a service outage for a couple hours.

FEBRUARY 17, 2022:

Parts of Pierre are encountering a phone outage this morning (Feb. 17, 2022), including the Police Department, the State Capitol, some state office buildings and the Pierre School District buildings.

Captain Bryan Walz says the department’s administrative and dispatch phone lines are down. If you need police assistance, people are asked to call 911 until the phone outage is resolved.
