EVANSVILLE, IN – Black Hills State stunned top seed Nova Southeastern Tuesday 77-67 in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Men’s Division II Elite Eight at the Ford Center.
Joel Scott led the Yellowjackets (26-7) with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Sindou Cisse scored 12 points. Adam Moussa had 11 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Nova Southeastern, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, had been undefeated this season at 31-0, but shot just 33 percent from the floor and were held 29 points below their season average by BHSU, who is making its first appearance in the Elite Eight and in the NCAA Tournament.
Black Hills State will play Thursday in a national semifinal game against two-time defending Division II champion Northwest Missouri State.
