FORT MYERS, FL – Joe Ryan pitched out of trouble in his first start of the spring and had two scoreless innings for the Twins in a 4-0 loss to Atlanta Tuesday at Hammond Stadium.
Ryan allowed two singles in the first inning, but retired Travis d’Arnaud on a fly ball to end the threat. In two innings, Ryan allowed three hits and struck out one.
The Twins’ offense continued to struggle, managing only six singles.
Minnesota (1-5) will start Josh Winder on Wednesday against the Boston Red Sox in Fort Myers.
