BROOKINGS – South Dakota State Women’s Basketball rallied from a first-quarter deficit and used a 27-9 run from the end of the second quarter into the last three minutes of the third quarter to turn the game around and eventually defeat Drake 84-66 Thursday in the round of 16 of the Women’s NIT at Frost Arena.
Myah Selland led the Jacks (26-9) with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, a made three-pointer and 6-of-6 free throws. She also had seven rebounds. Paiton Burckhard scored 20 on 9-of-12 shooting. Tori Nelson scored 16.
SDSU has now won 23 of their last 25 games and will host Alabama in a quarterfinal on Sunday night in Brookings. The Crimson Tide defeated Houston Thursday 79-64.
