BROOKINGS – Summit League Player of the Year Baylor Scheierman of South Dakota State is declaring himself eligible for the NBA Draft while maintaining his eligibility to play college basketball.
Scheierman is a third-year sophomore. He averaged 16.2 points per game this season while leading the conference in rebounding at 7.8 per game and assists at 4.5.
SDSU had 30 wins and became the first men’s team to go through the Summit League schedule unbeaten, including winning the conference tournament. The Jackrabbits lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Providence.
