RENNER – Back at you, Renner.
Post 8, who was eliminated by the Renner Royals in the 2021 state Legion tournament, used a nine-run second inning Saturday to defeat Renner 9-5 at Renner Park and sweep the region series two games to none.

A sacrifice fly by Brecken Krueger made the score 3-2. Jayden Wiebe walked with the bases loaded to tie the game, then Matthew Hanson had an RBI infield hit to give Post 8 (19-20) a 4-3 lead. Dean then cleared the bases with a three-run double. Gary Nedved capped the big inning with a two-run home run.
Jackson Edman allowed four hits and struck out seven in six innings for the win. After Aaron Booth allowed two runs in the seventh, Jack Merkwan recorded the last out for the save.
Renner defeated Post 8 twice in the 2021 state tournament as the Royals won the championship.
