HARRISBURG – Back at full strength, Pierre Governor Girls Basketball had what they needed to stop the Harrisburg Tigers at their own game.
Pierre’s tough defense smothered Harrisburg in a 40-30 road win Tuesday that gave Pierre its second win against a top-five girls AA team in five days.
Reese Terwilliger scored 10 points for Pierre, eight of which came in the first half. She also had nine rebounds. Lennix DuPris scored nine, as she returned to the lineup. DuPris and Ayvrie Kaiser didn’t play in last Friday’s win over O’Gorman due to injuries. Remington Price scored seven points and hit one three-pointer, the 174th of her career. She is one away from tying the program record set by Emily Mikkelsen.
Pierre (11-2) trailed 11-8 after the first quarter, then allowed only 19 points in the final three periods.
Jaylee Hofer led Harrisburg (10-3) with 15 points.
