PIERRE – Two firsts for the Oahe Zap happened Wednesday.
Gage Huffman singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to complete a comeback from a 7-2 deficit and give the Zap an 8-7 win over the Fremont Moo at Hyde Stadium. The Zap completed their first series sweep and now have their first three-game winning streak.
After Trenton Duchscherer was placed on second base, Garret Arnold was intentionally walked. Kyle Memarian was then hit by a pitch to load the bases before Huffman’s winning hit.
Andrew Beavers gave the Zap (13-29) a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two-run single before Fremont scored three in the fifth, a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh.
A wild pitch scored the third Zap run in the eighth inning.
Oahe then scored four runs to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth. With the bases loaded, Tyler Traphagen walked to cut the Fremont lead to 7-4. Trevor Seagraves hit an RBI single, and Jackson Mix then drew another bases-loaded walk to cut the Moo lead to a run. Beavers also walked to tie the game at 7-7.
Winning pitcher Brady Glenn, after Fremont had first and second with one out in the top of the 10th, induced fly outs from Neil Jansen and Tyler Hummel to end the threat.
