Cross country coaches Jessica Larson of Potter County, Holly Evans of Chamberlain and Ralph Kroetch of Philip were named as 2023 area coaches of the year by the South Dakota Cross Country and Track and Field Coaches Association.
Larson is the Class B Coach of the Year in Area 1. Her Battlers won a second consecutive state championship last month and the Potter County boys were 13th.
Evans is the Class A Coach of the Year in Area 3. The Cubs’ girls finished as the runners-up in Class A.
Kroetch is the Class B Coach of the Year in Area 4. The Scotties’ boys won their second straight class B title.
