VERMILLION – Jeffrey Mills’ three-pointer with 1:03 remaining broke a tie Sunday and Air Force held on to defeat South Dakota men’s basketball 58-55 at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
Rytis Petraitis led Air Force (6-2) with 18 points.
Paul Bruns led three in double figures with 16 points for South Dakota (4-3). Bostyn Holt had 15 points and Kaleb Stewart scored 13. Lahat Thioune had nine points and 15 rebounds.
South Dakota led 33-28 at halftime, then was held to 35 percent shooting in the second half. Overall, the Coyotes shot 39 percent. USD held Air Force to 35 percent shooting for the game, but also committed 17 turnovers.
