Two adults were displaced from their home– one of which was treated for smoke inhalation– but no serious injuries were reported following a trailer house fire in Pierre about mid-afternoon on Monday (Nov. 10, 2025, approximately 2:35pm).
Pierre Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Brandon McCarthy says upon arrival in the 100 block of Lakeview Court, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.
The single-wide mobile home sustained significant damage and is considered a total loss.
Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately 2.5 hours. Other agencies assisting with the response were AMR ambulance service, the Fort Pierre Volunteer Fire Department, the Pierre Police Department and the City of Pierre Electric Department.
