SIOUX FALLS – Former USTA Northern Section President Liz Hamburg and three-time number one flight singles champion Ripper Hatch will be inducted later this month into the South Dakota Tennis Hall Of Fame.
Hamburg was in the USTA Northern Section’s leadership for 14 years, including four years as president.
Hatch achieved the rare feat of winning three consecutive top-flight singles titles in 1984, ‘85 and ‘86 for Brookings. Ripper’s father Sherwood, a long-time tennis coach at Brookings, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.
Hamburg and Hatch will be inducted in a ceremony on Sunday, July 17 at 11:00 AM at McKennan Park in Sioux Falls.
