MOBRIDGE – North Carolina fisherman Brandon Card brought out 21 pounds, 10 ounces Thursday to nab the lead after the first day of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite event at Lake Oahe.
Drew Cook of Georgia was second at 20 pounds, six ounces. Patrick Walters of South Carolina bagged 20 pounds, five ounces to place third.
Brandon Cobb of Greenwood, South Carolina, reeled in a five pound, 12 ounce smallmouth to win a $1,000 prize for the largest catch of the day.
The event will continue through Sunday.
