Donna was born August 25, 1947 in Sanford, NC. She and her mother moved to Selby, SD when Donna was 9 years old. Donna graduated from Selby High School in 1965 and later married Alvin Hepper of Selfridge, ND. For 16 years, they owned and operated the Hepper family farm and tended cattle. Together, they had three children, Marty, Vicki, and Dusty. Donna and Alvin divorced, and Donna moved to Kansas, where she met her husband, Gary McGee in 1995.

Donna traveled with her husband, enjoying each other’s company, seeing the countryside, and fulfilling Donna’s passion for country dancing, cooking, and caring and loving on her family and friends.
In 2011, Donna and Gary decided it was time to move home to be closer to family. They returned to her hometown of Selby where Donna worked for the City of Selby, the Selby School District as a cook, and her final position and passion was the cook for Area IV Senior Citizen Center until she passed.
Donna was a very loving wife, mother, and friend to all. She enjoyed hard work caring for family and friends, and always had an extra pep in her step. Her passion for cooking was enjoyed by all.
