SIOUX FALLS – Defending champion South Dakota State is picked second in the preseason Summit League men’s basketball poll behind Oral Roberts.
SDSU is the only school with two players on the league’s preseason all-conference first team: Luke Appel, last season’s conference Sixth Man of the Year, and Zeke Mayo, who is on the all-newcomer team.
South Dakota was chosen third. Three Coyote guards are on the preseason all-conference second team: Mason Archambault, Kruz Perrott-Hunt and A.J. Plitzuweit. Plitzuweit missed all of last season with an injury. Archambault and Perrott-Hunt were second-team all-conference in 2021-22.
Max Abmas of Oral Roberts was chosen as the preseason Summit League Player of the Year.
