Jack enjoyed fishing and camping with his family and in the summer, neighborhood softball games. He also enjoyed playing cards. He had a nickname of Happy Jack and always had a smile for everyone. He worked for the railroad but after a few cycles of working then being laid off, Jack went to work as a route salesman for Eddie’s bakery for twenty years. When the bakery left the region, he worked briefly for Wholesome bakery then for Old Home bakery from which he retired. He said many times that during bad weather it wasn’t him driving that bread truck but Jesus driving. He had a perfect driving record which he was very proud of.
