The City of Fort Pierre reminds residents you are not allowed to to discharge sump pumps into the sanitary sewer system. However, you may discharge to the curb or other outside location.
To discharge from basement sump pumps into the sanitary sewer system between October 15 to April 1 (Ordinance H-3-16), Fort Pierre residents must get a Permit to Discharge from the Director of Public Works.
