A 47 year old former Jones County resident now living in Harrisburg has been charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography in Lincoln County.
Court information says the charges against Rocky Hayes stem from an employee at Dropbox– an electronic storage service provider– who saw a file believed to be child pornography. This resulted in a tip being sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The information was passed on to the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation. According to a probable cause affidavit, during searches in October and November 2022, an investigator found three files containing videos containing child pornography.
A judge set Hayes’ bond at $25,000 cash only.
