Nebraska Prospects kept adding on runs in a 10-0 victory over Oahe Zap iLB on Monday.
Nebraska Prospects got on the board in the top of the second inning after Danny Sponberg doubled, and Easton Swofford hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Nebraska Prospects added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Nathan Cunningham singled, and, each scoring one run.
Joel Benes earned the win for Nebraska Prospects. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over nine innings, striking out 15 and walking none. Gavin Starcher took the loss for Oahe Zap. The right-handed pitcher went six innings, giving up six runs (four earned) on 11 hits, striking out seven and walking one.
Trenton Duchscherer went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Oahe Zap iLB in hits.
Nebraska Prospects collected 14 hits in the game. Nebraska Prospects Cade Lynam made the most of their chances at the plate. The number eight hitter led the team with three hits in four at bats. Swofford led Nebraska Prospects with three runs batted in. They went 2-for-5 on the day. Cunningham, Sponberg, and Tyler Palmer each collected multiple hits for Nebraska Prospects. Lynam and Sponberg each stole multiple bases for Nebraska Prospects. Nebraska Prospects ran wild on the base paths, amassing six stolen bases for the game. Nebraska Prospects were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Tucker Bradley had the most chances in the field with 15.
