Funeral services for Bryanna Rayne Ducheneaux Clown, 22, of Eagle Butte will be at 10 AM, Monday, November 6, 2023, at the Cheyenne Eagle Butte School Gym. Burial will be at the Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Family and friends will meet at the 4-mile junction at 8 AM Monday. Bryanna passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, in Lead, SD.
Bryanna Rayne Ducheneaux Clown, Pte’ San Win (White Buffalo Woman) returned to the Star Camps on October 28, 2023, at Lead, SD. Bry was born to Lacey Ducheneaux and Brandon Clown on January 27, 2001 in Pierre, SD. Her Godparents are Cora High Elk, Conroy Clown and Katie Ducheneaux. She was named after her Grandfather Bryan “Tuffy” Lee. Bry attended Head Start and Kindergarten in Pierre, SD. She attended 1st through 12th Grade at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School, graduating in May, 2019. In school she was involved in: Missoula Children’s Theatre, Governors Camp at USD, Natural Helpers, Student Council, National Honor Society, Volleyball, Basketball, Track, Cross Country and Canli Coalition among others. Bry was graduating with a Business Degree from Oglala Lakota College in December 2023 and was on the President’s List. She was a member of the American Indian Business Leaders Association (AIBL) with OLC. She was also involved with American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) One Act Play and Business Competitions through OLC. Bry was recently notified of her acceptance into the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks.
Bry began her working career as an Intern at the Cheyenne River Youth Project’s Keya Café. She was also a Cashier at Lakota Thrifty Mart. Bry was an INMED student for several summers at UND and was a Counselor the Summer of 2022. She was employed as an ARPA Clerk with the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. Bryanna Rayne was employed at the Cheyenne River Housing Authority as a Housing Assistance Program (HAP) Clerk at the time of her passing.
Bryanna Rayne was our bright shining star with a heart of gold. Her smile lit up a room and she loved everyone. Bry was a huge animal lover. She enjoyed watching her Aunt Felicia Circle Eagle’s dogs, Emma and Zander. Missing her at home are the family dogs: Sister, Ollie and Romeo. Bry loved collecting elephants and crystals, reading and listening to music. She also enjoyed traveling, attending concerts, playing disc golf and walking. She loved hanging out with her family and friends.
Bry is survived by her Mother Lacey Ducheneaux (Gerald Takes The Knife, Jr.) of Eagle Butte, SD and her Father Brandon Clown of Bismarck, ND. Also surviving are her sisters: Bryar Takes The Knife, Peyton Buffalo and Braxtyn Jewett. She is survived by one brother, Tyree Bear Stops. Also surviving are her sister/cousins Kayliah Clown and Lauryn Clown and her best friends Camden Jandreau and Karlee Witt. Uncles are Delano “Del Bob” Cook, Delmar Jr. (Jade) Clown and Aunts Dardi Clown, Amy Lee and Joette Lee. She is also survived by her Goddaughter Brandee Jae Eagle and numerous Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Lalas, Uncis, etc.
Bry was preceded in death by her Uncle Randon Clown, Aunt Baby Mary Knife, Cousin East Lee, Uncle Dakota Lee and her baby in 2021. Also, her Great-grandparents: Harold “Peaches” Lee and Velma (Walters) Lee, George and Bertha (Soft) Ducheneaux, Edward and Amy (Talks) Clown, Bevin Sr. and Cecelia (Cook) Circle Eagle. Also, her forever friends Carli Haskell and Brandon LeBeau.
Our hearts are broken but huge grief is the result of great love. Toksa Ake’ Bryanna Rayne, you are loved infinity and beyond!
