Hughes County Commission approves salary resolution, annual appointments to start 2026

The Hughes County Commission has approved the county employee salary resolution for 2026.

Hughes County Finance Officer Thomas Oliva said the salary resolution is traditionally the first resolution passed each year.

Since this week’s (Jan. 6, 2026) meeting was their first of the new year, Hughes County Commissioners also took care of some annual organizational items.

Rob Fines was reelected chair and Connie Hohn was elected vice-chair. Along with Commissioners Tom Rounds, Bill Abernathy and Randy Brown, the group unanimously approved the appointments of:

Eric Booth as Director of Equalization
Nick Dooley as Emergency Management Director
Nick Dooley as Highway Superintendent
Mike Mullen as Veteran Service Officer
