A $1.4 million bridge repair project is scheduled to begin today (April 6, 2026) on the White River Bridge on S.D. Highway 47.
The project includes concrete removal and repair of the existing bridge decks, followed by a concrete overlay. Work will be done in phases, with crews completing one lane of the bridge at a time. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane across the bridge, controlled by temporary traffic signals. A 12-foot width restriction will be enforced during active construction. Each phase of work is expected to last up to six weeks.
A project for bridge repair work over Willow Creek near Clearfield on S.D. Highway 53 is scheduled to begin later this season. Work on that project will be the same as the work done on the Highway 47 White River Bridge replacement.
The Highway 47 project is expected to be complete in Aug. 2026. The overall completion date for the two projects is Oct. 30, 2026.
