PIERRE, S.D. – On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the intersection of Highland Avenue and Wynoka Street is scheduled to re-open. The intersection will be surfaced with gravel until Wynoka Street is paved from Euclid Avenue to east of Evans Street in May 2026.
In order to complete construction on Wynoka Street, the following closures will be in place:
- Wynoka Street will be closed from Euclid Avenue east to the Catholic Church entrance;
- Wynoka Street will be closed from Highland Avenue east through Evans Street; and
- The intersection of Wynoka Street with Mary Lane and Evans Street will be closed.
Euclid Avenue will continue to be closed north of the Euclid Avenue and Broadway Avenue intersection.
Commuters are encouraged to utilize alternative routes.
The prime contractor on this $26.4 million project is Morris Inc. of Fort Pierre, SD. The overall completion date for this multi-year project is Friday, Nov. 20, 2026.
