Mni Wiconi water line break fix at Fort Pierre was complicated

Complicated permanent water line repair completed in Fort Pierre

The permanent repair to Mni Wiconi’s main pipeline bringing water to Fort Pierre and other areas of central South Dakota was fixed earlier this week.

Fort Pierre mayor Gloria Hanson says the water line break turned out to be more complicated than was originally thought.

Over the past few weeks, Fort Pierre residents had been asked to conserve water while Mni Wiconi and the Bureau of Reclamation repaired the water line.
