JOHNSTON, IOWA (September 9, 2026) – Every day, thousands of people require lifesaving blood transfusions. Unlike other medications, blood cannot be manufactured. The only way these patients can get the care they need is through the generosity of volunteer blood donation.
LifeServe Blood Center is the primary blood provider in South Dakota, supplying blood products to 39 hospitals across the state. Every donation made with LifeServe stays local. That means when you donate with LifeServe, you’re helping ensure your friends, family, and neighbors have access to the blood products they need, when they need them.
Everyone who donates blood between September 28 and October 3 at a South Dakota donor center or mobile blood drive will receive our brand-new “Saving Lives in South Dakota” t-shirt.
The Tyler Wilcox Blood Drive is December 2-5th; the deadline for donating doubles has passed but the last day to donate whole blood and still be able to donate during the December event is October 7th.
