Fort Pierre may be one of the next South Dakota towns to enact a temporary mask mandate.
Mayor Gloria Hanson brought up the discussion at last night’s (Mon.) city council meeting.
She says medical providers need help from the public to get a handle on the spread of COVID-19.
Hanson suggested a time frame of 30 days for the mask mandate.
Hanson says the Fort Pierre City office and the Stanley County Courthouse have both recently closed to the public because of COVID-19 exposures.
Council members agreed to put the temporary mask mandate discussion on the agenda for their next meeting which will be Dec. 7.
