Approximately 400 Pierre Municipal Utilities customers were without electricity for about an hour early this morning (Wed.).
Information from the city office says an elbow inside a switch on 4th Street failed and caused the power outage. What caused the failure isn’t known.
Power went out about 6:30am and the vast majority of customers had it back by 7:30am.
