This week’s COVID-19 case number update from the Pierre School District shows there are three students and two staff members who have tested positive.
Two of the positive students attend TF Riggs High School, while the other student and both positive staff members are at Georgia Morse Middle School.
Supt. Dr. Kelly Glodt says although their current case number is low, people need to continue to follow recommended precautions against the virus.
To help monitor for COVID-19, the Pierre School District added a position and a half at the beginning of the school year so there’s a full time nurse at every school. Glodt says while it may not be convenient to have to take a student home or to keep one home that isn’t feeling well, the nurses’ orders need to be followed.
