Pierre TF Riggs High School senior Michael VanDeWiele has been accepted into the South Dakota High School All State Jazz Band.
Band director Mackenzie McKeithan Jensen says the event will take place May 6-8 in Mitchell, with the finale concert May 8 at the Mitchell Performing Arts Center. There are three groups with 47 students total; Big Band 1, Big Band 2 and Combo. Mike is a member of Big Band 1 as their guitarist.
