A 41 year old woman from Highmore convicted of Sale or Transfer of Firearms to a Prohibited Person has been sentenced in federal court.
Elissa Schultz must spend 18 months of probation and pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
The conviction stems from an incident on January 24, 2020, in Pierre, when Schultz transferred a firearm to her significant other, Stacey Hansen, knowing he had been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year. Hansen has pled guilty to Felon in Possession of a Firearm in connection with the incident and will be sentenced Oct. 25, 2021.
