The Hughes County Commission will be asked to consider raising the fee it charges to house prisoners from other areas in the Hughes County Jail.
At this week’s meeting (Nov. 1, 2021), sheriff Patrick Callahan said their current fee is $80 per night.
Callahan says he’s still gathering information to figure out how much of a fee increase is needed.
Callahan expects to have more information for the Hughes County Commissioners to consider at their next meeting which is scheduled for Nov. 15, 2021, at 5:30pm at the county courthouse in Pierre.
