HERREID – A 2019 9B championship game loss to Colman-Egan was the first time for the Herreid/Selby Area co-op to make a title game. Two years later, H/SA is back with a chance at a crown, this time in 9A. On Thursday, the Wolverines, unbeaten at 12-0, will play 11-0 Howard for the championship.
Head Coach Clayton Randall said that the roots for this run began with the 2019 team.
Randall is pleased with the balance the Wolverines have on offense, something that he said wasn’t the case in 2020.
Randall said he is gratified by the support from the communities in Campbell and Walworth Counties.
Randall is pleased to help bring the Wolverines back to football prominence.
Herreid/Selby Area will meet Howard Thursday for the 9A championship at the DakotaDome in Vermillion. Coverage will begin at 12:30 PM on STAR 99 and on the STAR 99 page at the DRG News app & drgnews.com.
