The Pierre Regional Airport is once again a busy place.
SkyWest, flying as United Express, took over commercial air service in April following about a year of unreliable service from California Pacific Airlines.
Pierre city commissioner Jamie Huizenga says enplanement numbers remain strong.
He says increased use of the airport means increased funding and carrier opportunities.
Parking is free at the Pierre Regional Airport, which Huizenga says has created the challenge of having enough spaces in the parking lot to accommodate increased traveler numbers. Airport officials are working on a solution.
