Four of the six defending state champions are ranked at the top of their respective polls in the South Dakota Media High School Basketball preseason rankings, released Monday.
2021 champions Sioux Falls Roosevelt (AA boys), Sioux Falls Christian (A boys), De Smet (B boys), Sioux Falls Washington (AA girls) are on top of their polls. Winner stands atop the class A girls rankings and Aberdeen Roncalli, last season’s class A girls champion, is number one in class B.
Winner received votes in the class A boys poll. White River is second in class B, with Platte-Geddes, Lyman and Lower Brule all receiving votes.
Pierre received votes in the class AA girls poll. Defending champion White River is third in class B, with Herreid/Selby Area receiving votes.
